Tukun Bukit Mertajam Hill hike

It is not an easy challenge for a rat hearted like me and HH. My initial guess is I won't able to complete the challenge at all. But my prediction doesn't seems to be true. Both of us completed the hike in like 2 hours, probably a bit slower than the rest but who cares, we made it! The dedicated photographer this time round is the guy in yellow sweaty wet plain pale yellow shirt. The first picture is the rest area we stopped at and the first we wanted to give up.

We rested for about 10 minutes and there is one fair lady who came over our rescue and promised us another rest area about 2 minutes walk from where we were standing, just around the corner. How I wish I can ran like she did in the middle of hefty hike..

You might think this is easy because we walked on tar road. It wasn't, because the incline are most of the time is like 20-30 degree.

Sometimes, you really feel like giving up because the strength that left over has been overused and your mind only can think of beef kuew teow soup and cold freezy coke.

We had the moment of serene and photo taking while resting. The camera man is seldom in front of the lense. I learnt up the name of the place we were hiking as Tukun. We were at BM at 8 early of the day hiking.

We felt the breeze and fresh air when almost reach the top. There was a phone call from the elite group from our team to check if we still want to get to the top.. Yes, we haven't give up. We aim for "exceed expectation" this time. Nah, this is our target, the communication tower!

We tried to pose like the fellows in the sign board. This is pretty weird.. Hahaha

Some of them really fond of a few puppies found on top of the hill. But it is not fair as only the one with white fur got most of the attention.

There is one girl hiding away from all the puppies. She kept herself isolated from the crowd because she scared of the furry animals.

The members lazying around for a few minutes before beginning the journey down the hill.
Like always, we tried for a group picture. FF is still fighting for her right to meet TM's parents later on our way back.

Resting after the hike at a tea house. I do not agree on the way of them conducting the business because they charged RM1.50 per head for cover fees which I think they should not do that because we ordered food and tea.

But somehow, it did give us laughters and many smiles craved on their sweaty faces.

Gimme a Room

WHERE??!!!

Always the roof in my room looks pleasant and there is no sign that it may collapses. Yesterday my landlord told me that her daughter wanted to use the room of her intention to be back to Penang to study. My reaction was nothing and smiled. Nah... small problem. But to get a suitable room for me and of course to be convenient is not easy. So better start searching..

Hello Kitty & Friends on lantern festival

Today is lantern festival. I insisted to go to the Hello Kitty and Friends lantern festival exhibition in Autocity despite of the crowded and jammed bridge on that day. It is lame but interesting. First time I go see something like this. We paid RM15 perticket, and because that day is a week day, we got the special offer to buy one ticket for two visitors. We had an hour walk through the whole scene, started with Hello Kitty and her friends, some animal lanterns followed by dinasours region at the back of the cutie lanterns.

Miss and Mr Hello Kitty saying Hellos to everyone

Their ribbons are cute.

Her friends.

Mr and Mrs Hello Kitty taking a leisure walk at the night safari saying Hellos to them below:

We were in Africa

We were in India

Then, we walked to China

At one time, WL wish that this is real

His majesty longest dinasour

My type

They scattered around

These were rare, as per his words

After accompanying Kitty's friends, here is my friends. As long as I am working in this company, I never miss every year lantern festival celebration yet. Same goes to 2007, we gathered at Sg Nibong park where everywhere was dark and only a patch of light at the playground lighted by us.

A group photo without the photographer. I think is Julian.

We had the chance to light our own lantern and parade for a short walk.

We played black magic too and it completed the night.

Chicken Recipe

I found 2 interesting ways to kill a chicken. First is by marinate it and second is by kaffired it. I experiment one for each week, for 2 weeks now.

The first idea came out when I have 2 chicken legs and don't know what to do with it. So happened I have the kaffir lime leaves left in the refrigerator and I have a bottle of tomato sauce. So what I did was to mix and match the ingredients.

Chicken meats cut into smalles pieces
6-8 leaves of kaffir lime leaves, crushed, or you can simply crumble them using your with your palm+ fingers. :p
1 medium onion, cut into slices (I used the biggest shallots I had because that were what left in my kitchen)
Tomato sauce
Quarter cup of water
2 tablespoon of sugar
pinch of salt and a sprinkle of pepper

What you need to do it to heat up like 3 tablespoon of oil in a pan. Wait for 6 seconds. Put in the onion, chicken and kaffir lime leaves. Stir, fry do what ever you think you should until you feel the meat is 80 percent cooked on medium fire. Pour in water, and add tomato sauce (shake it 4 -5 times should be enough -- haha, what a detail) . Do not forget the sugar because this dish is meant to be sweet and fragranted with the kaffir lime leaves. Sprinkle some pepper and add in a pinch of salt to your preference. When the chicken is cooked with almost dried sauce, serve immediately, with rice is the best. Serves 2.

Second one is when I feel I can do something with marinating the juiciest chicken on earth.
2 whole chicken legs cut into smaller pieces
ginger in the size of 4 girls' thumb, grated
7 slices of garlic, chopped
1 teaspoon of salt, pepper
1 tablespoon soy sauce

Easy, put everything above into a sealed plastic bag. Left in refrigerator for a night. The next day, fry 1 chopped shallot in 4 tablespoon of oil. Put your marinated chicken with the crumbs of ingredients in the oil. Fry, stir occasionally. After about 20-25 minutes, the chicken should well cooked. Serves 2.

No picture. Never bother to take one, because my hands were dirty and oily the time I cooked.

Stupid or Smart pedestrian overpass?

I am not sure should I quote the new overhead bridge as a smart project to replace the old one or a stupid one? The previous one was just in front of the school, you know above the gate for fire bridgate to pass (yellow). But then this year, the town council destroyed the old one but built two new ones. One on the left, about 1km from school and another one on the right also 1km away, which I don't illustrate in the diagram. I don't know what happened to the person who planned this. I think he is stupid. The students have to walk 1km to the overhead bridge and down at the other end of the highway and back to the school about 1 more km. Then take a bus to 2km from school and reach home. Nonsense. Why someone who already walked 2km still want to take the bus. She can straight walked to her home which is 2km away from school. I really feel the idea of building this bridge is really stupid. Some students don't care to walk so far away and illegally cross the highway through the yellow gate. As from what I heard, teacher has to be assigned to watch the students not to cross the road directly. Hmm.. something to ponder about. There is no contribution to the students at all on the bridge....

EPF: Apply once, get monthly withdrawals (updated)
By IZATUN SHARI
KUALA LUMPUR: From January, EPF contributors who want to make monthly withdrawals from Account 2 to help pay their housing loan instalments need only go once to apply for it.
The money would be credited to their personal accounts.
Finance Minister II Tan Sri Nor Mohamed Yakcop said the contributors only need to go to EPF to apply for the monthly withdrawal once and the money would be directly credited to their account every month.
He said the condition was that the contributors have a housing loan.
On worries that the monthly withdrawal would be subject to abuse like the EPF computer withdrawal scheme which was a flop, he said: "Let them use the money. It is all right. The money is in their pocket. But they must have a housing loan.
"There are no worries. For the computer scheme in the past, some contributors bought computer slips rather than computers. In this case, they cannot cheat. We can check with the bank if they have a housing loan."
Nor Yakcop was asked to elaborate on the EPF monthly withdrawals mentioned in Budget 2008.
The Budget was tabled in Parliament by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi last Friday.
Nor Yakcop was speaking to reporters after delivering his keynote address at the Malaysian Newspaper Publishers Association's seminar entitled "Making Sense of The Media Collusion" here Tuesday.

Another happy trip

This entry maybe will show me to be very obsessive in babies. Just bear with it.

You know, highway isn't so smooth during holiday season. Independence Day is one of the peak period where people from south and north might be going up to central region to witness the remarkable celebration at Stadium Merdeka. At the same time, those from KL might be travelling back to every parts of the country to spend more time with their family. Similar to them, I wanted to meet my niece (and sister :P).

There are valid reasons why I like her so much.

She welcomed me to her humble home with her friendly look.

She looks happy when she is happy. Baby is always innocent. They act what they feel.

She revealed a lot of expressions that captured my heart, locked it with her babiesh gestures

She tells me that we are bonded by blood.

Therefore, I helped her to grow up.

She brought me to eat:

Satay celuk

Famous rice balls..

Asam fish

Cendol and "ais kacang"

She loves travelling.. and I love travelling with her.

She walked with us..

She needed rest after a journey.. We shall meet again very soon :D

Merdeka!

Girl : Why are you stacking the flag at balcony?
Mom : It is 50 years my child. 50 years.
Girl : erm... yah..
Mom : Everyone else has a flag. We should be proud.
Girl : Is it? Okay.. Hope we can live a better life 50 years after.

Study Case (1)
A fifty years old wanted to withdraw his 30 years of saving to pay off the house and car debt from employee retirement fund. Great effort by the goverment to safe guard the people money. The law change in one of the year where the contributor can only get back their own money at the age of 55. The people’s money is controlled and there is so much to do to get their money back. Queues and waits and the way the thing goes are like the contributor is trying to snatch the fund’s money instead of claiming their own property. Probably they should make the fund to operate like a bank, where people can withdraw their money straight from the ATM when they reach the specific age and nooed to go through so fussy steps. Also it is hopeless to know that the money will go disappear if some mishaps occur to the contributor because the beneficial name has not been updated every now and then due to the database failure.

Study Case (2)
A Nepalese immigrant came to Malaysia for a better living for his family back home. He was lonely and wanted to get a companion. He got one from the second floor complex where he was working at and life wasn’t get better because of her desperation, she ran away with RM600 he kept in his pocket. He had no other choice but to make police report. Life got even harder after he went to the officers because they visit him often to just to check his visa and get some pocket money after they got his address. The result is he need to shift house to avoid our beloved officers. Good job for making sure their visa don’t expired Tuan!

bang! bang!

I woke up this morning with intention to work from home to slip in some time to pack my bag for the trip home. After answering some questions from Adrianne and Brent's, immediately a mail came in ask for meeting by the super woman. In order to not miss my breakfast, I quickly grabbed the milk in fridge with me while flying to the office. The time at the clock struck my head. It was 8.15am and there will be no more parking by the time I reach office. Everything went just as I imagined.

At 8.40am, I drove into Intel lawn. Many cars were quieing at the pathway to parking lot. I made a turn to the new carpark and damn... The hardworking, dark and agile security guard was standing at the junction directing cars to move towards PG9 campus. I made a left turn and wanted to park at the road side. To my surprise I found a parking space near to the gate. So I made the move to shift my car in. Turn to right, and REVERSE and BANG! ... Shit, I don't see anything. What did I just knock it once. Nevermind, I will try reversing again, BANG! second time. OK.. It is a divider by the road side. I drove a bit far and parked. Finished with 2 hours meeting..

I don't know Mandarin

After reading about telephone scam again today, it reminds me of a phone call I received a few days back. Haha.. saying about the phone call, I think it is worth to pretend to be stupid sometimes. Pretending stupid is what girls do the best at the right time.

It was 3.45pm August 7th. I received a phone call from an unknown number. Abviously is a China lady, based on her accent. She called and ask if my name is this this this... She spoke in a very clear mandarin and I knew she is looking for me. My mind quickly intepreted her as a con-lady and I will pretend to be stupid. I simply mubled her "uhmm hmm huh". She repeated her question again and I kept quiet. I know it is not a good manner to do that, but I don't want to entertain people like this which I think should be buried alive. Then she feels something not right, as I was not replying her anything in common. Haha. She thought I am a banana then. At that moment, I don't care if I made the wrong assumption because I just want to save myself from falling into any trap. Probably they can put spell on me through telephone line. Who knows?!

Con lady: Nu hui jiang hua yu ma?

Me: Har? Huh huh.. ahhhhhh...

She hang up the line directly and never call back. I wonder why don't they hired an English spoken staff to cheat people..

Get Well Soon

Two little handphone accessories from two cute friends. One I used to hang it at my handphone and another one I used it as keychain. Both had reached the end of their service life. Now they sit on my desk doing nothing. The strawberry's string is broken and same happened to the butterfly one.

********************************************************

My friend is admitted into hospital because of hepatitis A. I wish she can get well soon. From reading, I see that there is no specific treatment for the liver disease, just rest and eat healthy food through the recovery stage.

Mourning flowers

There are so many types of mourning flowers you can send to the grieving family at a funeral.

Got roses:

Carnations:

Chrysanthemums:

Floral-meadow:

Those are for humans.. But what if dogs?

and twin doggies?

I am now being chased by all unit owners that I have no where to hide. Someone please help!!!!!!

My life is so sux that I feel like yelling "YUCKS" to all the yucky people out there.

My work is the last thing I want to think about now. Everyone went to lunch and I am sitting here.

Well we have been waiting for 4 hours for a response. We should have someone available at the day ECOs are due as we always know that we may run into issues.

Anyways, Sowmya seems to have figured it out. She is in the process of completing them and will goldenize them shortly (will send email when she is done).

Thanks

Rocio

Can I say something??? I slept for like 4 hours everyday and supporting them at the middle of night. Can she say there is no one standing by? Where the hell everyone has gone. Just kill me. My medical leaves days are like OT days. May God bless your soul...

Clean and Fresh

I have clean bedsheet and pillowcases and blanket and floor and desk and everything.

Do not fear to step into my room. It is clean from germs and bacteria.

To make that happen, I 've changed my bedsheet and washed all washable thing in my room.

Come, come, please come into my room.

Guess what? My only guests are the twin Pringles brothers. They cheer me up and give my body and extra piece of flesh. No. It is fat.
Nevermind, as I am happily showered by gifts. Woohoo..!!

I got this PENSONIC blender. I have tried it with oranges and water melon. Functioned well. I have thought the price is like RM60+. But when I peek at the price in Tesco, it is nearly RM100. Now I do not need to borrow blender from aunty next door when I want to crush the food or mix the shallots.

Milk Thistle is used as liver tonic. I remember doctor said my liver has a layer of fat covering it. So I guess I need to reduce my intake of fatty meat T_T. Don't know how true is that. Eat 2 capsules a day, the words from the person who gave me this bottle.
See you all on Monday!!!
