Hiking to old temple

Last Saturday we went hiking at Ayer Itam. Soek Junn called it hiking but Chor Chen called it morning walk. For me, I called it climbing staircases which made me breathless. We had Marina who was here for business trip with us and all together about twenty heads and a dalmatian with rudolph nose. The dog became our loyal servant leaded us up to the hill. Lan Sin came without Julian who was lazy sleeping at home. :P Dalmaty ran up and down the staircases and scared everyone pant's off. Lucky we had Wee Han who tamed down this friend of his.

As usual all hikes are not hikes without Wee Meng and Stanley, the forever good mates. Cheng Sim ran all the way from mainland to join SD's little activity in the weekend. Jonathan never finished his FV and came playing with WaiLoon. The girl who always impresses me with her super strength in hiking is Guat May. I still remember how she ran all the way down from the top to where some people were restlessly laying down to motivate us to go up all the way to the peak of Tukun hill. That was last year, October.

All the photos were taken by James, who Soek Junn hired for this event except the first one of this post. Two youngest team members in SD joined the hike, Daniel and Yuri who are absolutely a shocking truth to discover they are only 21 and 22 years old! I can't believe far away me from high school now.

Up the hill is a temple with some chairs and tables. We rested a while and turned back down.

The group photo.

We visited Soek Junn's rabbit at her house nearby. Here I am with her baby rabbit which has grew so big.

After that we all went for dimsum . It was a tiring day that I napped for 3 hours later when I reached home.

Sunday's babbling

The photo uploader is having problem again this time when I felt like writting something. So I am as well just write without any photos for illustration. Maybe I am the only one who is seeing issue where there is no photo upload button to click at in the composing page. Small matter, although they always say picture says a thousand words, I can use a thousand words to describe a picture too.

After three years working in Intel, at last I got the golden opportunity to refresh my lappie. It is not that easy to serve three full years in this place, to be exact 3y and 5m. I actually had to seize this opportunity myself because they never care to send me the invitation to have my laptop to be refreshed. Why? I asked the same question earlier and it frusted me when they gave me the answer. The guy was very polite trying to explain why they remove me from the list but it still give me the fire in my mouth to spit like mythological dragon.I was told that I had just rebuild my hard disk last year that they think my laptop is still good to be used. Crap. The guy who helped me in migrating data the other day to the new laptop sure disagrees on their argument because he told me in between the hours in the refresh center, that I really need this refresh due to the bad experiences we encountered. I had to restart my machine five times and restore my machine's setting many times and still the new laptop still not able to detect the old laptop through the wired connection between both. Now I am using this new HP 8510w, I can sign in to IM whenever I want, wherever I am. But this new laptop is not as good as I think althought I thought that I can compensate the bulky machine with it's super feature. The heat is released from the keyboard and it makes my palm sweaty and hot. I encountered blue screen twice when I booted and I can't able to wake him up after closing the lid without proper hibernate. I know I should hibernate it in a nice way but sometimes I wish the laptop can work in anticipation. Also because of this laptop which has a very not sensitive and difficult to navigate's rubber mouse button, I have to get myself a new mouse. Lucky that I can claim RM50 for this wireless Logitech optical mouse that I only need to pay RM38. Now I can bring my pet to meeting room and use it freely.

It was a good week because next week we are going to have a long holiday. Hari Raya is on Wednesday and Thursday so by taking Friday off, it will be a total of 5 days rest time. Weekend is somehow thirsty because there is no rain in any of the day. So I drank a lot of water to avoid dehydration which if happens, anybody will fall sick. I spent hundreds this weekend in stocking my kitchen ware's wardrobe. I bought a slow cooker worth RM85, a big and a medium knife with a metal strainer all using my RM150 metrojaya vouchers. Then I used RM100 jusco vouchers to get myself a maxim pan and tefal spatula. My kitchen's ware is getting more and I feel happier. Not happiest yet, remember!

Happy Birthday, Chiu Hong

I can't believe you turned 19.
Time to grow up!

Vege Sunday morning

Today is a very busy day. My work is so much that the weekend work is just about working at the beginning of the job.

It took my precious 3 hours for the preparation and serving, consuming LUNCH.

I rang my mom twice last week and the week before to get a brief explanation on how to make this light dish. I am not sure how to call it, but it is kind of like steamed dumpling with vegetables inside.

I made dough from glutinous rice flour with a pinch of sugar and hot boiling water. Duh.. The dough was so hard that I need to use my super strength to make the whole thing into a whole one piece. I mounded the flour in my metal bowl and poked a well at the center. Then poured the hot water in and start blending. As what my mom said, roll into balls at the size of ping pong ball. I forgot how a ping pong ball should look like, so I made some smaller ones than the actual size.

I was supposed to flatten the ping pong ball size dough using the rolling pin. But I do not have one, so I optimized my super strenght again for this, using my right palm and WeeLiem's hand. :P Make sure the outer portion of the piece is thinner than the center.

I filled them with vegetables; carrot and sweet turnip (sengkuang in malay) fried together with big onions and dried shrimp. Remember salt and pepper for the vege.

Place the dumpling on banana leave cut into square if you have. I just placed them onto plate, and they sticked. These pieces of dumplings were steamed for about 15 minutes. Separate all pieces from each other becuase the flour can expand or grow. Not sure what is the correct word though.

Finally, put the pieces into your mouth or dip in chillie sauce before you monster eat them. Yummy. Felt just like home.

Mooncake & birthdays again!

I swear that I forgot yesterday was 19th September. I can't remember any occasion that make me look at the date or check the calendar. Today when I booted my laptop and I saw the date at the right bottom corner is 20th, I freaked out. I forgot my very good friend birthday yesterday! Happy belated birthday Ai leng..

Not so sure why September has so many birthdays even one my of sister and some friends are among these few days. Making baby during new year is so fruitful, my verdict.

The same goes to weemeng whose birthday is on last Monday. We had a small gathering about twenty plus people to celebrate his birthday. Talk about small, that is pretty big number to fill up the seats in Secret Recipe.

We had banana chococlate cake for his birthday. Hurray! No more cheesecake... Everyone was VERY happy and so did the birthday-man.

Later after the filling cake, we proceeded to the next activity in list. We were going to play lanterns at the same place like last year. This time, Chor Chen prepared some extraordinary lanterns, like butterfly, panda, phoenix and "can't remember" with the other traditional paper lanterns.

Full moon, as the photo describes. Peace to the world, as the hand gestured

We had some new faces to join us this year, the newbies plus a few familiar faces like Eng Heng, Guat May, Lay Hoong and Yoke Sun. The rest are the same old colleagues.. haih... missing a few.

After a few rounds of parade holding our lanterns, we stopped for game. Wee Han coordinated this game called Mafia. I did not played much because I was killed in the second game. The first person to be killed. No chance to open my mouth yet. Ish.

We ate some mooncakes before everyone drifted back home in different directions. Work again the next day.
It is super hot today that the pain strucked my left side of head again. Not only that, my run also stucked with weird error in log file.

Yi Chong cut mooncake on his B-day

It rained almost everyday two weeks ago but lucky us the sky was clear for outdoor activities last Friday. The most important ingredients, chicken wing for BBQ was not prepared until last minute. We planned to get marinated chicken from Tesco but they did not sell any that day. Thian Min and Yi Chong bought a bottle of terriyaki sauce and went back office to marinate the chicken wings on spot.

I fried mee hoon and arrived at VE where some early birds already there starting the fire. Soon everybody's voice filled the BBQ pit area and camera's flash light was everywhere. There were so many photographers on the night, like the moth's lover Teik Li and Her Hau's lover, Tze Yee. I did not bring my camera there and the few photos I posted here are courtesy of Ikbing, Cannas's boyfriend.

It was already a year since our last BBQ. This time we wanted to celebrate Yi Chong's birthday and also at the same time paying a little attention to mid-autumn festival.
Mooncake as birthday cake, it was a special way of celebrating birthday.
We hung lanterns on tree branches at the side. The view was very lovely in a way. Cannas and Cathrane chose all these pretty lanterns with Disney theme.. We had winnie the pooh, minnie mouse, mickey mouse, snow white, cinderella all hanging there accompanying our party till the end. Eng Heng joined us late, but not too late. Glad to see him after his so long time in dungeon.
Our party ended at about 10.30pm and everyone headed back home for a good shower before doozing off in bed.
Do you miss us now Fang Fang?

Wee Cheng's wedding dinner

Today is mid-autumn festival and I am really happy that I am having two lanterns in my possesion. They are minnie& mickey mouses and winnie the pooh & friends 's lanterns.

On the same day, it is the day when attended Wee Cheng's wedding dinner. It was held at Zhonghua chinese restaurant in Cititel hotel. The place was full of wedding atmosphere and at the times when everyone shouted "yam seng", the voices from my table filled the whole hall especially from Julian. The people that shared the same table as me, 29 seemed to be very excited of this wedding. They laughed non stop, not sure if it is the effect of alcohol overdosed on Wee Han, but on Chor Chen, it was misterious. He drank only plain water. He was triggered and giggled histerically to the extend where he threw out the water he sipped to Wee Han's lap at the time when Yong Ming called his name. It was very weird but funny.

We managed to caught a photo with Wee Cheng on the way out from restroom. She had changed her gown from white sweet to elegant apple green.

Group photo of the misterious gang...

The girls from SD and ex-SD :D

I do not have any photo of the food other than this. So here I present, the shrimps!
I feel a bit dizzy because of the beer now. Dozzing off to bed as tomorrow I have to wake up early for work.

Double celebrations for Seapea

First is to conglats Choon Peng for the courage to take the first step to success, and second is for his marriage. We had farewell dinner for him at Deluxcious, and at the same time was to celebrate his wedding.

Dinner was a 5-course set in a very nice environment.

Appetizer : smoke salmon and fruitti salad with wasabi dressing

This is the main course I picked: Marinated lamb with Japanese red miso on fruitti salad

This is the married couple :D with the another main course, pan-seared salmon + grilled potato, stir fried vegetables and mushroom ragout. The name is so longgggg... obviously I copied it from the menu.

Playful day for the princess

She loves the feeling of wind blowing towards her face. She giggled and moved happily around the standing table fan. It was a risk to watch this funny moment because she tried to reach the moving fan whenever we glanced away from her for just a second.

She mischievously picking up broken tiles to play with when everyone worried she is going to hurt herself. I quickly took a broom and swept the tiny pieces away and our hearts calmed down for a while more.

Token of appreciation for hard work

The small gesture from management gratified the people who had worked really hard. Sometimes the gain is satisfying.

We received a flash light which the light is generated mechanically without any battery. The mechanism is cool, the light is apparently bright enough to create day light for a community of ants. There is also a 4G thumb drive, but the size makes it not so likeable by me because when is used with stacking on another occupied USB port on my lappy, it is not able to squeeze itself into the empty slot. I wish the shape is a little more slim.

Cute, yummy babies

Since my little sister in Down Under country is hungry for the photos from my last family trip to my elder sister house, here they are. I present you the series of delicious food to feed your appetite.

Bon Appetite!

I am going to begin your excitment which now you have the drooling saliva down your chin and stomach growling to be fed, with the appetizer. The big baby. My lovely lady.

She loves the camera and drew a big cheeky smile when I suggested for a photo taking session.

So can you imagine how happy she is to play with e-von and me looking at the ear-to-ear smile she craved on her face? It is a boring life for her without the companion of her aunts.

I can't resist not to take another picture even when she was taking a nap in the afternoon. Peaceful and calm.

The main course is coming out after this, be patient.

Deng deng deng deng! Maincourse: The small baby

Sisters doesn't fight. Look at how the big baby gave the small baby the cutest kiss on forehead.

That aunty who bathed the baby has a bad fashion sense. She can't match the right shirt with the matching pants, so forgive her.
When she opened her eyes, face still as red as tomato...

Big baby visited her sister and I paparazzied this piece of evidence.

This is another sleeping photo. Most of my collections are with her eyes closed. Baby doesn't open her eyes that frequent and needs a lot rest because this is only her second day coming out to this world. She struggled to get out the night before. I have to salute my sister for her bravery!

Okay, enough for now. I will end this meal with the dessert of the drinking milk pose with my minnie mouse on her side.

Love love love

Restroom's tale

Many chances when I need to have a leak in office, I'll stumbled across wet patches on toilet seat in the restroom. What I have to do is to pull out a lengthy toilet paper and roll it a few times to thicken the paper in layers. It is not other than the most important step to avoid wetting my bare hands with the yellowish liquid or whatever liquid on the seat. Then, wipe them it off clean and dry. I know it sounds gross and I feel extremely gross doing that. I hate it but I have no choice. I don't want to go out and wait some more for the next available cubicle because at generous times it will still be the same. It happen so often that I think I am cleaning the toilet seat in work place almost everyday. I see posters hanging at the back of the each restroom cubicle's door educating and reminding the uncivilized parts of human to sit properly when peeing and never half-sit too because the aim is never correct. Also, never squat on the toilet seat. I know some people love to stand on the seat and squat there because sometimes I see shoes marks on it. There is always available toilet seat paper cover in restroom and these people never seem to like using it. So what? Just pull one out, direction up and pull it down to release it from the box. Tear out the center part of the paper, layer it on top of the toilet seat and sit on it. As easy as ABC. Some engineers are very uncivilized, considering they are the smarter population in human, this should not ever happen at all. I feel disgusted over their daily practise. The more I think of it, I feel like throwing out.

But restroom is the best place to gather news from various people. Sometimes, I can hear very interesting piece of information about something because people love discussing in the restroom despite the fact that everyone else in the cubicles can listen to their conversation. There is one specific person who if is reading this post will surely fire his M16 machine gun as usual and occupy me with his stinky remarks.

Lucky enough that our restroom cubicle's walls are closely build without any gap. The photo below was taken in US restroom from inside the small cubicle. I can see people viewing their image from the mirror even from there. So you can imagine what people can see from outside. hahaha. It doesn't matter to me since I am not interested at all looking at people doing their business. It absolutely strucked me at first when I first experienced the openness of western culture but luckily I got used to it after the first week.
