The weekend was a short one but I finished a book in between juggling my time at home to entertain my sisters, clean the house and visit my grandmother. I was addicted to the story so I swallowed everything in two days. I have been reading books by Danielle Steel for years and I still like hers. The way she wrote can really bring the words into life. All the characters in her story are lively defined and I can even imagine them in real, how their physical look is like, their thinking and everything about a person. It dreads me when I can feel the character's emotion, smile, laugh, anger and cry with them. In all her story, there is always love, heartbreak, and a lot of emotions. Same as the one I just got from the bookstore during Friday's lunch break. I read some of her books when my sister used to rent them when she was in college, and when I started working I went to the library and searched for all her books, trying to explore them one by one until none of them left unread. It attracted me right away after I read the synopsis from the back cover the other day and I decided to purchase it.Tanya is a strong character in the book and had a very blissful life before she stepped into the Hollywood business. She had a son and a pair of twins whom I know each of them really well. I even cried in tears on Saturday when I reached the part where her husband cheated on her with her best friend and they ended up with divorce. Bungalow 2 is another book that hooks me up with the character's life sorrow and happiness. This book somehow gave me a familiar touches because the book mentioned places like spring break in Tahoe, Monterey Bay and Carmel, San Diego parks, San Francisco, Disneyland, LAX and freaked me out when I still remember fortune cookies from the Chinese restaurants. I had the idea of the places because I had been there before but even if I don't, I will still get the point because of how they are being described in the 500+ pages book.
I remember another book of her which I enjoyed reading a lot, Mirror Image about a pair of twins who looks alike. Yes, love and affair and reality.
I like the feeling when I read her books because I can really drift along with the storylines where I will burst into tears, skipping happily like a 3 years old, or grinding teeth in anger. I will get bored with books of hundreds to thousand pages if there are no character like Tanya in Bungalow 2. I never read those long winding stories which can drag to nowhere or makes me puzzle on what they are saying like all the popular books that made into movie.
I think I am going to visit the library sometimes to check if they added new books to their collection.
