Early celebration

Everyone looks so happy in the pictures. Clapping and laughing... SD has this kind of event every month... This time was October babies birthday celebration. Thanks to you guys for remembering me. I was the first who arrived at Cherry Blossom at 6.10pm. I personally love the food there, so I was too happy to be the first.

A bit too early for celebrating my birthday but somehow, it is the only birthday cake I got with candles on it. Ops.. forgetting about HH's old colleagues's mini cake. Hehe..

By the way, I love the ZA eye shadow that the girls gave to me. :P Thanks to Xiao Wei, Soek Junn, Suet Sun, Sujea, Adelene and Leonard.

55 before spouse can claim savings

55 before spouse can claim savings

KUALA LUMPUR: Beginning June 1 next year, any claim on a deceased spouse’s Employers Provident Fund savings will only be paid once the claimant reaches the age of 55. According to EPF chief executive officer Datuk Azlan Zainol, this would apply to cases where a person obtained a court order stating that the claimant would get the contributor’s savings. “However, this only applies to non-Muslims. That is because of the fatwa that EPF savings is not matrimonial property,” he said yesterday.


Tuesday newspaper article reported that Employee Provident Fund will control money belongs to non-Muslim if the person died. The deceased's spouse or the beneficiary is not allowed to claim their beloved saving until herself/himself is 55 years old. Why? What if the beneficiary need the money for living?

TIPS: Call your own distribution list for the first time?

Hate it when I faced this problem twice. Once when I first use Microsoft Outlook and second after I rebuilt my laptop. Even though you have created a new distribution list, added in all the names you wanted to included in the list, you still can't call it in the TO, CC, or BCC list. Frust.

Therefore after my second time world class frust, I am documenting this down.

First of all check if you are able to call a distribution list by checking your "Contact" properties.
At the navigation panel (Mail/Calendar/Contacts/Tasks), click on the Contacts. Under My Contacts, right-click on the card with a face on it and go to Properties. Click on "Outlook Address Book" bar to check you adress book availability. If you can't even click on the box to show this folder as an e-mail address book, please go to next step. If you can, Voila! You just need to select the correct Address book name and start using your distribution list in a new email.


IF NO: At Tools, choose Email Accounts. Click to "Add a new directory or address book". After Next, click Add. Click on additional address book and Next.

Then, restart your goddamn Outlook. Now use call the distribution list as many times as you want.

The southernmost tip of mainland Asia

Few years back, I was lucky to have joined a little adventure to the most southern tip of the Asia mainland. I did not know where they found this place as I was only invited after they confirmed the direction and my task: packed 6 packets of food. I remember it was shinny in the early of the trip. We went in 2 cars and guided by the imaginary GPS system in the drivers' head. This place has an equivalent status like to the highest mountain in the world, Everest; the longest mountain range, Andes; the longest river in the world, Nile. After a 6 seconds grand orchestra music played, "The sounternmost tip of mainland Asia award goes to Tanjung Piai!!! ", followed by a full hall of applauses.

The place that we visited is called Tanjung Piai. It is located at the very end, the tip of penisular Malaysia. It has a big man made stone about 1.5 storey building height with an OK welcome message. Bad thing was we only saw it only our exit.

We walked through a natural not so old jungle and swamp area. It was a habitat for Mat Rempit type of monkeys. Man walked in there pretending to be so kind and foolishly thought the monkeys were so cute to be scared of. It was proven to be wrong. Never ever provide anything better than the road to the monkeys because they will rob you off. We lost some food containers to the monkeys. There was a few tree houses in the area for visitors to rest, we climbed onto one of them, just to find out that a storm was coming.

The latitude is 1degree and 16.00 minutes to the North whilst the longitude is 103degree and 30.46 minutes to the East.

We wanted to explore more, so we walked on the pier and to the end where we can reach the furthest.

We managed to snap some pictures before running away in the big storm. Believe me, it was scary. There was this direction board which pointed the directions and the distance kilometres Mecca or Paris or ... was away from the spot.

There was nothing beautiful to see other than feeling proud to stand at the end of Asia finger tip.

At the age of 23, we still use 15 years old pose for picture.

We took pictures, carved memories, never kill the monkeys and kill a day of weekend.

Klang bah kut teh & BP beef kuateow soup

Have you ever see the real Klang bah kut teh? Nah.. look at this! All big pieces and they taste delicious. I think this the best, situated under the bridge. As usual, you will need to clean the teapot yourself used by the previous customer. We arrived pretty late which means we were the few last customers. A very filling and splendid breakfast to us.

Only "oil" white rice, not yam rice like other places. Yummy..

After Klang, here is Batu Pahat version of good food. Beef kuateow soup as described is something that you got to taste when you stop by there. The stall owner has bad attitute towards local customer, Singaporean has higher priority. uh hmm.. still good mah?

A nostalgia of university days

Yesterday I login to my Yahoo! Photos account and found this:

I can either move my Photos to Flickr or let them close my account. Erm, I chose the latter and downloaded the missing pieces from my burnt old PC and stored them in my laptop. Although those pictures are just about 2-7 years back, when I look at them I feel like the memories are vanished long ago and sometimes regret of things that had happened.

When I entered university, I had no idea what the life is like. Totally no idea. Some friends told me they consulted the seniors of their school on how to survive in university especially those with a lot M in. There I found many new friends where some became my close friends, and some are just the Hi-Bye friends in later of my life.

A place where UTM people always go when they just started the campus and hostel life is the Balai Cerapan. It is more easier than BJ Hill hike and much simpler with newly found good friends. I agreed it was a happy life. My previous schools were St. Anne's Convent and Raja Zarina, both are girl school. Attending a university with mixture of guys and girls were a different experience for me.

Other than studying and walking a long way climbing Fakulti Elektrik hill everyday, there were many activities by the societies in the campus. Every year we have Lantern Festival celebration. During my first year in campus, I became one of the mooncake girl walking around asking people to eat mooncakes. :P

Not forgetting the stays in hostel, which I felt was a great and warm surrounded by a bunch of friend. We ate dinner together every weekdays, distributed by Gary, a senior who did the economy rice pack business by riding his motorbike and sending rice pack to every female blocks in KTC. One pack cost only RM1.70 back then.

Then we planned to move out to our own rented house nearby the university. So everyone of us were divided into own preffered group and search for a comfortable, convenient and affordable house to stay.

I have my own secondary classmate friends graduated a year earlier because we studied in different course.

I was sad because Yee left me and went back to Klang. She walked with me to dinner sometimes because we stayed very near to each other at one time before I shifted from Kemajuan.

We won't excel in studies if our life has no fun at all. We will go to JB and watch movies in Mega Pavillion once in a while.

We went to City Square to shop too. HH's favourite past time has not changed till now.

Some unforgetable moments will flash into my mind when looking back at the pictures we took. As the name says, "Singgah Selalu", we dropped by a few times before graduation to relax our mind from study.

Lectures in class will not be fun without anyone of them. They are precious.

Almost to the end of the 5 years university life, it was my first time taking picture at the pathway of our faculty. I can't remember who took this.

Last time, we were very simple. A colar shirt and a pants with a hanging matric card, we walked around the campus with a file and a bag.

The last picture was taken on one Tuesday morning. I was a happy girl and is a happy girl now.

Out to the Space

101007 - A truly memorable moment for Malaysian to remember, our own cosmonout or Angkasawan went to the space yesterday. Many sing praises on the country achievement for being able to send one of our Malaysian out to space for the first time in history. Even the King too, quoted it as a historical event. Conglatulation to Dr Sheikh Muszaphar Shukor. They found the right model to represent our country, a handsome orthopaedic surgeon, publicity always stands first. Therefore for myself, I feel proud too after Captain Robert “Hoot” Gibson clarified Dr Sheikh Muszaphar as a cosmonout instead of earlier report from NASA saying that he is just a space tourist.




In the midst of celebrating the achievement for being the number ?? th to go into space, among all the newspaper and blog articles on the launching of an expensive rocket, and the 1 long year training both of the candidates went through.. still, read the other pieces, you will find the world is more insane than the day before. We have a lot of cases such as this one:

It is truly heartbreaking to understand the people's insanity over the fake technology development.

If you frequent Malaysia Today site, probably you will know not only the people's mind is corrupted, the ministers' too. I am not sure why that they want to dig the source of Lingam's tape, when they can just use any of the CSI equipment to check the genuinity. Once they know who is the source, not sure if he will end up like Altantuya, who was bombed to pieces by C4 explosives.

Little pinky dress

I bought a pretty dress last weekend.

It has some flowers on both of it's sides.

It is pink.

And I got 10% discount for the dress.

It looks so sweet.

Unfortunately the size doesn't match me. It is for 6-12 months baby.

I need a kitchen in my new house

I like a kitchen for my own in my new rented house which I know is impossible. Erm, actually I am just renting a room. I have a lot of recipes in my head which I have yet to try. The problem is in my new home I must have at least the following items:

4 plates
2 bowls
3 pairs of fork and spoon
a pan or griddle
a pot of medium size enough to make soup for two
a pot of small size to cook the littlest liquid food
a ladle
a turner
2 pairs of chopsticks
rice cooker
a chopper knife
a small knife
a chopper board

I have a food blender and wish to collect more.

Tukun Bukit Mertajam Hill hike

It is not an easy challenge for a rat hearted like me and HH. My initial guess is I won't able to complete the challenge at all. But my prediction doesn't seems to be true. Both of us completed the hike in like 2 hours, probably a bit slower than the rest but who cares, we made it! The dedicated photographer this time round is the guy in yellow sweaty wet plain pale yellow shirt. The first picture is the rest area we stopped at and the first we wanted to give up.

We rested for about 10 minutes and there is one fair lady who came over our rescue and promised us another rest area about 2 minutes walk from where we were standing, just around the corner. How I wish I can ran like she did in the middle of hefty hike..

You might think this is easy because we walked on tar road. It wasn't, because the incline are most of the time is like 20-30 degree.

Sometimes, you really feel like giving up because the strength that left over has been overused and your mind only can think of beef kuew teow soup and cold freezy coke.

We had the moment of serene and photo taking while resting. The camera man is seldom in front of the lense. I learnt up the name of the place we were hiking as Tukun. We were at BM at 8 early of the day hiking.

We felt the breeze and fresh air when almost reach the top. There was a phone call from the elite group from our team to check if we still want to get to the top.. Yes, we haven't give up. We aim for "exceed expectation" this time. Nah, this is our target, the communication tower!

We tried to pose like the fellows in the sign board. This is pretty weird.. Hahaha

Some of them really fond of a few puppies found on top of the hill. But it is not fair as only the one with white fur got most of the attention.

There is one girl hiding away from all the puppies. She kept herself isolated from the crowd because she scared of the furry animals.

The members lazying around for a few minutes before beginning the journey down the hill.

Like always, we tried for a group picture. FF is still fighting for her right to meet TM's parents later on our way back.

Resting after the hike at a tea house. I do not agree on the way of them conducting the business because they charged RM1.50 per head for cover fees which I think they should not do that because we ordered food and tea.

But somehow, it did give us laughters and many smiles craved on their sweaty faces.
